The Palm Centre is the UK’s original and leading nursery specialising in hardy exotic plants. Established in 1989 by Chelsea Gold Medal winner Martin Gibbons, we’ve built a reputation for offering an exceptional selection of rare, unusual and much-loved specimens that thrive in UK gardens.

We grow, source, and propagate a wide variety of plants – from striking palms and lush ferns to architectural bamboos, ornamental grasses, olives, trees, shrubs, and herbaceous perennials. The collection also includes a full range of houseplants, with easy-care favourites and large, statement indoor specimens and a distinctive selection of pots and planters for both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Our 4-acre walled garden nursery – once part of the historic kitchen gardens of Ham House – is located by the River Thames in Richmond, south-west London. Just minutes from the M4, M3, and North/South Circular, the site features glasshouses, beautifully curated outdoor display areas and free on-site parking.
